High School New Buffalo Michigan

“High School, New Buffalo, Mich.” postcard view with students gathered outside the building

Black-and-white postcard photo of a two-story white school building with a cupola, with a large group of students standing in a line near the entrance.

This vintage postcard shows New Buffalo’s high school — a white, clapboard building with a small cupola — as dozens of students line up out front for the camera. The caption along the bottom reads, “High School, New Buffalo, Mich.,” and notes it was “Pub. by The Beeson Store.”

The photo isn’t dated on the card. A similar “High School, New Buffalo” postcard listing shows a postal year of 1929, but the image itself could be older. The Beeson Store is credited as the creator on other New Buffalo real-photo postcards, including one dated 1909 in the University of Michigan’s digital collections.

Do you know where this building stood in town — or what happened to it?
