Nestle Farm Products, Inc. Cass City, Mich.

Cass City’s skyline once included these smokestacks — the Nestlé milk plant captured in this vintage view.

Sepia-toned photo of a large factory labeled “Nestlé’s Milk Products Inc.” with a water tower, three smokestacks, several old cars, and fields in the foreground.

This photo shows Nestlé’s milk plant in Cass City, with its water tower, tall smokestacks and early automobiles out front. The handwritten caption identifies it as “Nestle Farm Products, Inc., Cass City, Mich.”

Cass City became a dairy-processing hub in the early 1900s. The site originally opened as the Hires Condensed Milk Co. in 1917, then Nestlé took over in 1922 and continued producing condensed milk there until 1953.

Does anyone remember family who worked there — or where this building sat on Church Street?
