What are the Great Lakes Lavender Growers?
Many of the lavender farms in our region are members of the Great Lakes Lavender Growers, which supports their community and educational programs. How to U-Pick Lavender
One of the most popular events at many of these farms is to walk out among the plants and pick your bouquets. There is a feeling of calm near the lavender as you enjoy the aroma, relaxation, and beauty. The best practice is bringing your garden shears, although some farms prefer to use theirs. With u-pick, you can cut and build your lavender bouquet from any of our varieties of lavender plants.
How to cut the lavender stems and build your bouquet
Cut 2 to 3 inches above the lavender plant’s base crown. Some farms will offer a small bucket or band to fill.

Lavender Shores Farm – 124 Greening Rd. Port Sanilac, MI 48469
Dan and Christine Kelly run Lavender Shores Farm. Dan bought the land eight years ago, intending to create a farm business so that his son Liam, who has autism, would have a future. Also, it provides him with a place to live and work with his father. There were several tries at various concepts, but none seemed to fit. Finally, after studying, Christine recommended lavender as a crop to try and base a business on when Dan met her a few years later. On Christmas in 2015, Dan asked Christine to marry him.
They desired an outdoor, camp-like setting for a laid-back, family-oriented summer event. So they took a chance and refurbished their barn and had the wedding at the farm after experiencing much irritation and being informed that anything even similar in the vicinity was already booked years in advance.
Everyone thought they were crazy, but with a lot of support from friends and family, they managed to pull it off and wed on July 15, 2017, which was a beautiful day. Everyone agreed that they would be crazy not to use what they had accomplished to help other couples find a location for their ideal farm wedding after that. The couple constructed a barn and a ceremony location, are prepared for festivities, and still have many ideas for future improvements. So, on July 4, they provide a “u-pick” weekend.
Indigo Lavender Farms – 631 North Van Dyke Road, Imlay City, MI 48444
Founded in 2015, Indigo Lavender Farms encompasses 23 acres of rolling landscape with approximately 14,000 plants under cultivation. In addition, the farm has honey bee hives and produces all-natural honey and beeswax. Products include fresh (in season) and dried lavender stems, culinary and craft-use dried lavender buds, bath and beauty products, home decor, and more. Farm Store Open to the Public May – December. The farm is Open to the Public yearly starting July 5th until around the end of July.
Romeo Lavender Farms – 80800 Van Dyke Bruce Township, MI 48065
Since 1999, Nick and Jackie Batsikouras have lived in Bruce Township. Jackie Batsikouras is a licensed aesthetician with medical degrees; her ancestors have been farmers for many generations. Auto Connection Media and Smart Diet Scale are just two companies owned by Nick Batsikouras.
This 17-acre property has established trees. The northernmost part of Macomb County contains a calm stream, sunflowers, lavender plants, and other wildflowers.
Nick and Jackie began planting their 2000 lavender plants with help from 20 local high school kids and a few friends. The following year, Nick planted over 2 acres of wildflowers and sunflowers to add to the beauty of the farm. Their Grand Opening was the summer of 2021.
Pinnebog Creek Lavender Farm – 2367 S. Van Dyke Road, Bad Axe, MI 48413
A family-run business, Pinnebog Creek Lavender. A farm in Michigan cultivates commercial lavender (3,500 plants) and acres of catnip using organic methods. Lavender is grown by the owner and his son, Ryan, and then distilled to create essential oils. They have a beautiful little store with locally produced lavender goods. Seasonally open.

Lavender Meadow farms were established in 2017, specializing in herbs dried on the farm. In addition, they sell herbs and homemade items locally. Unfortunately, there is no further information on this Michigan Lavender farm.
WW Farms, Lavender Farm – Hemlock, MI 48626
It provides naturally nourishing products that incorporate the advantages of aromatherapy, pure essential oils, and the best natural ingredients available. Founded in 2001, the family-run Lavender Hill Farm is located near Niles, Michigan. From late June to late July, 4000 lavender plants of 10 different types bloom in succession. Handmade lavender goods abound in their gift shop. The majority of its goods are produced on the farm itself. The farm shop is only open on a select number of days, from Spring to Fall. In the summer, from late June to late July, when their lavender is in flower, they also offer a lavender u-pick.

On a meager 106 acres, this farm in Southeast Michigan lavender farm is growing more than 25 varieties of lavender. In the following years, they intend to expand their lavender fields, organize workshops for making crafts and oil distillation, host an annual lavender festival and other smaller local events, run a farm store with various lavender-related products, and give farm tours. Currently, the farm is aiming to receive its USDA organic certification.

The whole family may have a delightful day trip at Mid-Michigan Lavender, conveniently situated 20 miles northwest of Clare and 20 miles southeast of Cadillac. The farm features a pick-your-own lavender field and a gift shop with lavender-themed items, wooden crafts, Michigan souvenirs, and more.
Summerhouse Lavender Farm – 2975 65th St., Fennville, MI 49408
They returned to their hometown of Saugatuck, where they currently reside, to begin their journey into lavender and gardening. The farm was constructed from a one-acre plot of property used as a horse farm for 25+ years. It was ideal for producing lavender, with naturally sandy soil, plenty of sun, and other requirements.
They built tranquil gardens, bird feeders, exotic trees and plants, a zen garden, fountains, and other tiny resting areas to embrace and increase that sense of calm restfulness everyone requires, even with the 1200 lavender plants planned for our shared space.
