During the 1930s and 1940s, Caseville, Michigan, was a small but active harbor town on the shores of Saginaw Bay. Caseville was home to commercial fishing fleets that harvested perch, walleye, and whitefish from Lake Huron. Fishermen used gill nets and pound nets, bringing their catches to local fish processing houses. The presence of a tall brick chimney in the image is where the sawmill and saltblock opertions were located. Casville was an industrial area in the late 1800s.
