Minutes after the attack, troopers located the suspects in their vehicle and attempted a felony traffic stop. However, the suspects fled the scene, prompting law enforcement to pursue.
Trooper 3, an MSP Aviation unit, provided aerial surveillance, tracking the fleeing suspects as they moved several miles beyond Flint city limits. The air unit’s continuous monitoring allowed ground officers to safely manage the pursuit.
With precise coordination between Flint Police officers and Michigan State Police troopers, the suspects were eventually stopped. Authorities successfully took all four suspects into custody without incident.
Additionally, several firearms were recovered from the suspects’ vehicle. The individuals were transported to Genesee County Jail, where they face multiple felony charges related to the shooting and evading police.
The successful arrest highlights the critical role of MSP Aviation in assisting ground units during high-risk law enforcement operations. The use of aerial tracking technology ensured a safe resolution to the pursuit, preventing further danger to the community.
Authorities continue to investigate the case and encourage anyone with additional information to contact the Flint Police Department or Michigan State Police Flint Post.
