Veterans in Bay City to Gain Access to Vital Resources

The Saginaw VA Healthcare System is hosting a Veteran Town Hall and PACT Act Resource Fair in Bay City on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Bay Veterans Foundation, located at 1009 N. Madison Ave., and is open to all veterans in the region.

The event will feature presentations on the PACT Act, opportunities to learn about VA healthcare eligibility, and on-site toxic exposure screenings. Attendees will also have the chance to meet with VA leaders and explore other services offered by the Bay Veterans Foundation.

Keith Markstrom, a board member of the Bay Veterans Foundation and a Vietnam veteran, emphasized the importance of the event. “We are passionate about our mission, ‘Helping Veterans Help Themselves,’” Markstrom said. “Our programs aim to assist all veterans in accessing the benefits they earned during service. This event will allow veterans to connect with resources that can make a real difference in their lives.”

The Bay Veterans Foundation offers a wide range of services, including workshops and a learning center to help veterans transition into civilian life. Programs such as the “pre-school for skilled trades” provide opportunities for veterans to develop practical skills for new careers.
