Huron County Gets Michigan DNR Grants For Waterways projects
Twenty-two communities in 15 counties were awarded nearly $4 million to help boost recreational boating in Michigan. The state is home to 1,300-plus state-sponsored boating access sites that provide access to recreational boating, fishing, and more.

The Huron County Road Commission restores the small boat ramp at Oak Beach County Park in time for the summer boating season.
This was due to the organization of the 300 member Oak Beach Boat Launch Supporters Group.

Oak Wilt Disease a Threat to Michigan Thumb’s Red Oaks
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has issued a warning about Oak Wilt fungus being extremely prevalent this Spring and Summer.
One of the trees that are susceptible to the disease is the Northern Pin Oaks which are prevalent along the shore and in the dune forests and wood lots in the Upper Thumb.
