The Huron County Sheriff reported that they responded to a call at 11 pm Saturday, June 25th, at the intersection of M-53 and Oak Beach Road in Hume Twp. The Sheriff said that a fatal SUV/motorcycle crash had occurred at M-53 and Oak Beach Road, killing a 32-year-old Harbor Beach motorcyclist.

The investigation reveals that 58-year-old Michael E. Karinen of Imaly City was eastbound in his Subaru on Oak Beach Road when he apparently disregarded the stop sign at the intersection. This caused him to collide with 32-year-old Eldon C. Pierson of Harbor Beach, who was southbound on his Yamaha motorcycle.
