Bird Creek Golf Club is an 18-hole public course located at 7850 N Van Dyke Rd, Port Austin, Michigan. Established in 1990, the course was designed by Bruce Matthews III and constructed through the efforts of local volunteers. The layout spans 6,508 yards from the back tees, with a par of 72, a course rating of 71.2, and a slope of 128.

The course is characterized by its integration with Bird Creek, which intersects or borders eight holes, adding strategic challenges. Five ponds and 48 sand bunkers further enhance the complexity of play . The terrain features rolling contours, and shifting winds from Lake Huron can influence play conditions.

Bird Creek offers a driving range, putting green, and short game area. PGA professional instruction is available. The clubhouse includes a pro shop and the Bird Creek Pub, accommodating events for up to 100 guests .
Community Involvement
The course’s development was a community initiative, with local residents contributing labor and resources. Shares were sold at $2,000 each to fund the project, totaling approximately $700,000 in costs .
