Huron County Nature Center’s board of directors is excited to have begun working on new projects and improvements at the Nature Center, including completing a final boardwalk that will allow the Center to open all 3.7 miles of its new bike/hike trails by Memorial Day 2022.
New Features and Exhibits at the Huron Nature Center
In addition to the hiking trails, the Nature Center plans to install three new exhibits in 2022 and upgrade the building’s lighting and improve the Center’s wildlife feeding area.
- A predator exhibit will consist of a coyote and a bobcat.
- An exhibition highlighting the frogs and toads at the nature center, with an interactive element for kids to explore.
- An outdoor exhibit near the center’s caterpillar house will provide homes for native bee species.
- With the help of a grant from the Huron County Community Foundation, the Center will install a waterfall in the wildlife viewing area to provide water and habitat for local fauna.
