Miss Port Sanilac Party Boat

The Miss Port Sanilac is a 38-foot fishing vessel that was built in 1958 in Pigeon Michigan. Today the Miss Port Sanilac operates out of Port Sanilac Marina for charter tours, wreck viewing, and diving.

Platts Drugstore in Port Sanilac – This drugstore is deemed as being Michigan’s longest family-owned, continuously operating pharmacy in Michigan. Founded by Frederick Platts in 1865 and operated it until 1880 when his son Rudolph Platts took over the business.

Cruising to Charity Island on the Lady of the Lakes – Days of rain gave way to a sunny Saturday in Caseville. It was a marvelous day to be out on the water. The tour boat, The Lady of the Lake was tied up at the end of the dock at the Caseville Municipal Harbor. The anticipation and excitement were high as this was the first venture to Charity Island for all to the passengers.

A Day Trip Around Michigan’s Thumb – Part One – This day trip starts at the gateway to Michigan’s Thumb. In the 1800s, stagecoaches plied their way north to lumber camps along ancient trails on the Lake Huron shoreline. Schooners and steamships passed on their way to the upper Great Lakes. Today you will travel north along M-25. This is one of Michigan’s earliest scenic highways. It closely hugs the shore all the way around the thumb.

A Day Trip Around Michigan’s Thumb – Part Two. – The starting point of our fun day trip adventure is in Grindstone City. We will head west along Saginaw Bay’s shore of sugar sand beaches and interesting coastal towns and villages. Bring a bathing suit because this side of the Thumb offers some of the best swimming beaches in Michigan.
