Like most states, hunting has a long and rich history in Michigan.

Before the Europeans arrived, Native Americans would hunt for food and clothing. When the Europeans came, they brought new technologies that made hunting much easier—like firearms and horses.

Today, there are many different types of animals that can be hunted in Michigan. Some of them include deer, bears, turkeys, ducks and geese, rabbits, squirrels and other small game (quail).

If you’re interested in hunting whitetail deer then it’s important to know what type of equipment you’ll need. You will need a good rifle or shotgun with plenty of ammunition; a good pair of binoculars; camouflage clothes; boots that are sturdy enough to walk on uneven terrain; rain gear if it rains often where you live; scent control products like sprays or powders so nothing smells unnatural when you’re hunting; insect repellent so mosquitoes don’t bite you while you’re outdoors all day long!
