Eminem Detroit Lions Thanksgiving halftime show partnership puts the rapper, his manager and a Super Bowl-level producer in charge of Michigan’s TV holiday.

The Detroit Lions are handing their most-watched tradition to two of the city’s most famous sons. Under a new multi-year deal, global rap star Marshall “Eminem” Mathers and his longtime manager, Paul Rosenberg, will serve as executive producers of the team’s Thanksgiving halftime show at Ford Field through 2027, working alongside production powerhouse Jesse Collins Entertainment.

For a franchise that once treated halftime acts as filler between losing football, this is a sharp reset. The Lions are betting that putting Detroit natives in charge of the show — and pairing them with a company that has produced the Grammys and the Super Bowl halftime — can turn the Thanksgiving slot into a cultural event that matters well beyond the scoreboard.

In a statement announcing the agreement, team president and CEO Rod Wood called the partnership a chance to elevate the show’s stature. “We’re thrilled to be working with Marshall and Paul, who are two of the most accomplished and respected names in the music industry,” he said, predicting their involvement would draw top-tier talent.

For Michigan viewers who plan their day around the Lions game — or at least leave the TV on while the turkey cools — it means Thanksgiving in Detroit is about to look, and likely sound, very different.
