Visit Farmers Market


Each Saturday during the summer farmers and growers from all over the Thumb converge on Port Austin. Its one of the biggest markets next to the Eastern Market in Detroit.

Horseback Riding


Experience a few hours exploring the country on horseback. Knoblock riding stable has been in the area for over 50 years. Highly rated and known for scenic trails and friendly horses.

Kayak to Turnip Rock


Turnip Rock is a great begineer to intermediate kayaking trip to take from Port Austin. Leave in the early morning and be back in time for lunch. Just watch the weather and lake conditions. Rent a Kayak or launch from Bird Creek Park.

Miniture Golf with Family


Port Austin has three nearby miniture golf courses that is great family fun. Two are located in town and one is a short drive west. It even has its own waterfall. The only waterfall in the Thumb.

Hit the Beach


The warm clear waters of Saginaw Bay all have sugar sand beaches along the western coast of the Thumb. With no under-tow and shallow sandy bottom its a perect place for families to play and kids to learn to swim.
