On August 5, 1812, two hundred Ohio-Michigan militiamen set out to clear the road to Detroit—and walked straight into Tecumseh’s ambush along Brownstown Creek near today’s Flat Rock, Michigan. In less than fifteen minutes, British regulars and Shawnee warriors shattered Major Thomas Van Horne’s column, captured General Hull’s private dispatches, and cut the only American supply route north. This 4-minute montage combines period artwork, on-screen maps, and primary-source quotes to show how a small skirmish turned the tide of an entire campaign. 🔔 Like this video if you want more concise battlefield breakdowns from the Great Lakes Theater of the War of 1812.
