The initial 111-megawatt Cross Winds® Energy Park — owned by Consumers Energy — began operating in 2014 in Tuscola County Michigan. Future phases of Cross Winds are being planned by Consumers Energy began in 2017 and continuing through 2020. 44 megawatts was in operation by the end of 2017 with 62 Turbines

Phase II of the project added another 19 turbines and an additional 44 megawatts of production capability to the overall facility. Phase II has been operating since January 2018.

In 2019, Phase III is being constructed to increase the production capability by another 76 megawatts with the addition of 33 new turbines. Phase III is expected to go into commercial operation in early 2020.
