Michigan Glamping – 2 intriguing Approaches Can Be Found In The Upper Thumb

Glamping is defined as a combination of the words glamor and camping. This high amenity approach to rustic camping has been growing in recent years. It can be found at some of the most desirous camping spots in the world. Now Michigan Glamping has come to Caseville at Sleeper State Park and Port Austin at Port Crescent State Park.

This sort of camping is perfect for those who want to experience rustic outdoor camping but don’t have the equipment or experience of camping. Glamping is a term that’s been around since the early 2000s, and it’s one of our favorite ways to enjoy nature. Glamping is the combination of glamour and camping—it’s luxury in the great outdoors.

While researching the 7 Little Secrets of Michigan’s Sleeper State Park, we discovered that the camping outfitter, Tentrr, had set up 15 secluded glamping sites. Each has a large platformed walled canvas tent containing a queen-sized cot or bunk bed and a wood stove. Several sites are located right on the beach.

Glamping has become increasingly popular over the last few years as people seek out more adventurous ways to vacation. There are many different types of glamping available today; some people prefer to stay in rustic cabins while others prefer tents or even yurts (which are essentially giant tents). The most popular type of glamping, however, is beach glamping because it’s easy and fun!

The park offers two different kinds of glamping accommodations: glamping tents, and woodland cabins. The glamping tents are quite large, with canvas walls and a wood floor, with space for up to four people. They come with a table and chairs inside and a charcoal grill outside (but no electricity). The woodland cabins are smaller but still spacious enough for two people, with running water and electricity provided by solar panels on the roof. Both Michigan glamping types of accommodation come with outdoor fire pits as well!

You can now camp on the beach at Sleeper State Park. Four beachfront campsites have been established on the secluded west end of the beach. Each site is tucked in on top of a dune that offers a marvelous view of Saginaw Bay.

A new trail was blazed from the day-use parking area to the beach sites. You have to hike in all your gear. The sites are wonderful and only steps away from the water’s edge. These offer a private and woodsy setting than in the main campground across the street.

What is Glamping – The Definitive Guide

Staycations and other close-to-home trips are trending in 2020. Many people who are looking for a getaway are opting for camping or glamping (AKA “glamorous camping”) trips, according to a recent Kampgrounds of America (KOA) special report.

However, the rising interest in camping and glamping in Michigan isn’t new; between 2014 and 2019, the number of campers pitch their tents three or more times per year increased by 72 percent. Many of these keen campers are Millennials and GenXers, who, according to the 2019 KOA North American Camping Report, are more likely to identify as lifelong campers than the generations before them — and who value the family-friendly atmosphere of camping as they introduce their children to the world of roughing it.

Whether you’re an avid outdoors person, you can take camping to the next level with creative glamping accessories.
