Caseville Pumpkin Festival

The 20th Caseville Pumpkin Festival Fun Rolls In 2022

Caseville’s Last Festival of the Season

We can’t believe that summer is over. The weather is great but the daylight is shortening and the evenings are cool.  So it’s no surprise that the last festival of the year rolls into Caseville this weekend. The Caseville Pumpkin Festival is a family-oriented weekend of scarecrow making, pumpkin carving, hayrides, and all kinds of contests.

Events include the pumpkin roll contest, scarecrow building contest, pumpkin decorating contest, giant pumpkin contest, wagon rides, petting zoo, candy treasure hunt, and more. A DJ will be spinning the hits in the park, so bring your dancing shoes as you build a scarecrow! If you want to have fun in the dark, we even have zombie paintball and a lighted parade! Don’t forget to come hungry for the pie-eating contest on Saturday!

Caseville Pumpkin Festival

This 2022 weekend event marks the 20th year of the fall festival. Created specifically for kids and families. The big event draw is the pumpkin rolling contest at Caseville County Park. A couple of new events are being added each year. The streets of Caseville will be the canvas with sidewalk art with chalk.  For added fun, there will also be wagon rides and a pumpkin eating contest.

The festival starts on Saturday morning with a kids pumpkin parade. The start of the festivities is from 10 am until 10 pm on Saturday and from 10 am until 6 pm on Sunday. Many years attendances are about 6,600 in this little town of 900 people.

Check out the Caseville Chamber of Commerce site for all of the events. We will be there looking for that perfect scarecrow to decorate our front porch for Halloween. We look forward to sharing the fun on Twitter @Thumbwind of the Caseville Pumpkin Festival.

Festival Events in the Upper Thumb

Caseville Pumpkin Festival

Bay Port Fish Sandwich Festival – As late summer rolls around the days get a bit shorter and the evenings around the campfire can have a bit of chill in the air. It’s also a festival season! If you’re in the Upper Thumb the first weekend in August, head to Bay Port. The Bay Port Fish Sandwich Festival is the granddaddy of them all. Since 1978 folks have come in and lined up for a fish sandwich that “takes two hands to hold one.”

Caseville Cheeseburger Festival – The Cheeseburger in Caseville is a chance to experience a bit of Key West atmosphere, Jimmy Buffet music, and indulge in cheeseburgers in paradise. In prior years, officials placed estimates were that over 100,000 people visited the area during its 10-day festival. It’s a family-friendly event during the day but offers a bit of craziness that true Parrot Heads appreciate in the evening hours.

Harbor Beach Maritime Festival – This midsummer Michigan Thumb attraction is a weekend music festival that is considered one of the finest in the region. There are over 24 hours of free, live music being played on the beach by some of the finest up-and-coming bands in the Midwest. The festival attracts some of the best performers such as Grammy winner Billy Strings who performed at the fest as his career started to take off. The festival is free. This means no hassles, no fences, and no bouncers.

Pigeon Michigan’s Wing Fling – Pigeon Farmer’s Summerfest is an excellent experience for anyone trying to find a small-town feel with big city fun. The Wing Fling has been replaced by the ever-popular food trucks that offer a great variety. The festival begins on Thursday and goes on all weekend from July 15-18. Inflatables for the youngsters, live music for families, crafter’s for the crafty, food for the hungry, and an auto show for everyone!
