First Ice on Lake Huron Forms Quickly

It happens quickly. Ice. Forming drip by drip with the waves after a chilly night with northern winds. But the beautiful first ice formations seldom stay long. The ice on Lake Huron can take on an artistic view. If you’re lucky enough to be on hand when you see these mystical formations be sure to try to capture them, as they are seldom seen again.

Film maker Coulter Stuart posted this beautiful video a showing the first ice on Lake Huron forming at the tip of Michigan’s Thumb.
