2012s Cheeseburger In Caseville had a Windy Wet Opening

Caseville, Michigan – Weather that resembled Tropical Storm Fay howled into Caseville during the opening day of 2012’s Cheeseburger in Caseville festival. It soaked those looking for the ideal beer and a cheeseburger in paradise on the first day of the ten-day festival. Some of the vendors took a break in setting up to keep their tents grounded during the worst of the 30 knot winds. I took a brave stroll up to the break wall and captured a few shots this morning. Got totally soaked. This afternoon we grabbed a burger at Dufty’s Blue Water Inn.

The streets are full of flamingos, grass skirts and cheeseburger headgear during Wednesday’s Parade of Tropical Fools, which is considered the highlight of the festival. Vendors fill the main street with the smell of grilled cheeseburgers. The purchase of a Cheeseburger Button which gets you in all the special events.
